Product intro | The King’s Cross Station, which owes its name to a monument for king George IV., is one of the oldest stations of London. It was put into service for the first time in 1852 according to plans of Lewis Cubitt and is the terminus for trains arriving from the north-east of England or from the east of Scotland (cue “Flying Scotsman“). Under the station, the underground station “King’s Cross St. Pancras“ serves as junction of a total of six lines. Moreover, the St. Pancras Station is situated in direct proximity. In total, these three centres are frequented by approximately 90 million passengers per year, so that they are among the main traffic routes in London and among the most heavily frequented transportation hubs of the world. |
